A Year of Celebration and Thanks: The Lord Mayor's Charity Appeal
What a year it’s been!
It was a phone call in December 2024 which we didn’t quite believe at first- and one in which we were sworn to secrecy for the next few months!
Cllr Dan Cohen rang to let us know that he would be Lord Mayor of Leeds from May 2025 and that Leeds Mencap was to be his chosen charity to champion during the year of office.
From a golf day, Civic Iftar and Bollywood dancing to bake sales, challenge events, raffles and fuddles, the energy has been non stop!
A huge thank you to everyone who donated and fundraised. You have made a massive difference, and to Cllr Dan Cohen- thank you. Thank you for being such a fantastic ambassador in raising awareness of our work and services for children, young people and their families. It's a definite legacy of your mayoral year and we're incredibly grateful.
