Sleep Tight Workshops

Sleep issues are common for children and young people with SEND and can have a huge impact on the quality of family life. We deliver regular Sleep Tight workshops to support parents and carers.

What can I expect from a Sleep Tight workshop?

The Sleep Tight Workshops consist of 5 sessions (lasting roughly 2 hours each 10 hours in total for the duration of the Workshops)

The sessions are as follows:

Week One: Introductions, the science of sleep

Week Two: Understanding sleep problems and the causes of sleep issues

Week Three: Strategies and support for sleep issues

Week Four: The importance of bedtime routines

Week Five: Positive bedtimes, certificates and farewell

Where are the workshops held?

Workshops are held at The Vinery Centre 20 Vinery Terrace, Leeds, LS9 9LU

We have our own car park at the back of our building with disabled spaces

Public Transport- Our nearest bus stop is Raincliffe Road

From Leeds City Centre you can catch 19, 19A, 40, 163, 164, 165, 7, 11, 64.

Is your building accessible?

Yes, our centre is fully accessible with a Changing Places toilet and disabled car parking.

What if I’m nervous to attend somewhere new?

You are welcome to visit Leeds Mencap before the sessions start, meet the Family Support team and ask any questions you may have.

Do you host online sessions?

Unfortunately, we are unable to host online sessions at the moment, but this is something we are looking into for future sessions.

Do you provide child care?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer child care.

How frequently do sessions run?

The sessions run in 5 week blocks, excluding school holidays. We have a waiting list and parents/carers will be contacted each time a new cohort will be starting to see if they can attend.
