Our Sibling’s Group
Term-time youth group for children and young people aged 8 to 16 who have a brother or sister with a learning disability.
Life as the brother or sister of someone with a learning disability can be difficult. It’s sometimes difficult to get time to yourself and for your friends, to go to clubs and activities or go on outings. The Siblings Club gives children and young people the opportunity to spend time with others who know what it’s like in a welcoming, supportive environment. There’s time to relax, try new things, talk about how you are feeling if you want to but mostly to let off steam and have fun.
The young people decide what they would like to do each week, including choosing venues to attend for trips such as laser tag, bowling and the cinema.
Previous activities have included, baking, Harry Potter theme nights, sports days, slime making, games nights and talent shows.
