Learning Disability Week runs from 15-21 June 2020. The theme this year is the importance of friendships.
Last year we raised almost £5,000 for our services through sponsored events. Although at the moment, our face to face services at The Vinery Centre are closed, it would be great if you are able to support us and make a small donation or if you would like to get involved and take on a challenge to raise vital funds for Leeds Mencap.
If you would like to make a small donation, you can do so here. Also, please share this with your friends and family – don’t forget to tag us and we can share your photos too!
Coronavirus explained to children
This book explains the coronavirus pandemic to children. It is illustrated by Axel Scheffler, which might look familiar? He also illustrates Julia Donaldson books like The Gruffalo and Stick Man.
Here are some more resources that we hope you will find useful. There are also some really good websites and apps with online resources for learning, games and to help support your mental health and well-being. Here’s some of our favourites and here’s some links that you may wish to try for further resources.
Please share these with other families and friends and keep an eye on our social media for more resources.
We need your support this Learning Disability Week
Please donate or take on a challenge to raise funds and make a massive difference for children and their families in Leeds. We’re a small, local charity and need to raise all our own funds.
