Volunteering is a fantastic way to offer your support to Leeds Mencap while also developing your personal skills.
Volunteers play an essential role in our team and play a huge role in supporting our mission to improve the lives of those with learning disabilities.
Volunteering at Leeds Mencap
Volunteers are essential to Leeds Mencap so thank you in advance for thinking of spending your time with us.
When it comes to what we need help with, the possibilities are endless! Whether it’s helping in our nursery, clubs and holiday playschemes, supporting on reception, in the office or with maintenance, supporting our fundraising team or helping keep our database up to date – if you have the skills to share and a passion for helping others, we would love to hear from you.
In return you’ll have an induction, training, and support relevant to the role you’re in. You’ll work in a supportive and welcoming team in a vibrant busy centre where no 2 days are the same. Most important of all you’ll go home at the end of the day knowing that you’ve helped children, young people and their families live their lives to the full.

Gardening Volunteer
Our gardening volunteers support the upkeep of our grounds at The Vinery Centre.

Nursery Volunteer
Our nursery volunteers support the smooth running of our nursery which includes a specialist playroom for children with learning disabilities/additional needs.

Trustee (voluntary role)
Leeds Mencap are looking for people who are passionate about improving the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Why not become our next volunteer Trustee? Voluntary, (expenses paid)

Volunteer Reception/Room Hire Assistant
Our volunteer reception/room hire assistants support our team with room bookings at The Vinery Centre.

If you choose to volunteer with us, we will provide you with a full induction including support and training relevant to the role you’re in.
