Professionals using the Toy Library
Charging
A membership fee of £50 per year is required.
Information
We will ask for details about child/ren in your care. This is to help us analyse our members’ needs, preferences and to provide information about our services to funders.
Registration will take place on our website.
Loaning
Items can be loaned through a collection service (we require at least 48 hours’ notice to get your available items ready for collection).
Items can be loaned for up to 6 weeks at a time.
The following items will require a deposit of 10% of the items value: Light Panel and Accessory Kit; Sensory Backpack; Black Sensory Tent and the White Sensory Tent - This will be refunded upon the item/s being returned in good condition.
You can loan a maximum of 6 items at any one time
Loan renewal is subject to availability.
Items can only be loaned, after we have received your fully completed registration form.
Items borrowed with a professionals membership can be used in setting and for home visits - however they cannot be loaned out to other families to take and keep at home.
Returning
When returned, all toys and resources must be clean and in full working order.
Any batteries will be checked by the SEND Toy and Resource Library team before the item is loaned. If the batteries run out during the time you have used the item, please replace them with working batteries.
It is the responsibility of the professional to check that all toys are safe and suitable before allowing any child/ren to play with them. If the professional has any concerns about any of the resources, they must not let their child/ren access these and they must inform a member of the SEND Toy and Resource Library team as soon as possible.
Please keep track of all parts and pieces while playing. Please make sure all parts are accounted for when putting the toy away. You can view the components of each of the toys on the toy library catalogue.
Late fees, missing parts and broken toys
You are responsible for any loss or damage to items that you have loaned and will be required to pay the full cost of the item/s.
It is your responsibility to return the items on time. Late fees will be charged for any overdue items.
Memberships will be suspended if fees are accumulated and remain unpaid for late, lost and damaged item/s.
Please do not attempt to make repairs to any toys or resources, as this may affect warranties.
Safety
Before toys and resources are available to loan, we will check that they are safe to play with. Please check you are happy with the toys and resources before you take them home.
Whilst you are loaning the toys and resources you must ensure they are safe to be used. Any possible hazards must be reported to the learning library team.
Data protection
The information provided on this or any forms in relation to your SEND Toy and Resource Library membership will be processed in accordance with data protection principles as set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018).
Data will be processed to ensure that the toy library has relevant records of its membership and the items loaned. Anonymised personal information may be used in funding bids and reports to funders.
Liability
The toy library accepts no responsibility or liability for any accident, injury or damage which may occur during the loan of items. No responsibility or liability is accepted for any third party accident, injury or damage.
While using the toys and resources, children must be directly supervised by the professional and responsibility lies solely with them to provide safety in play.
It is the professional’s responsibility to ensure that the toy or resource that you decide to loan is suitable for your child/ren to access.
Parents
