Why support us?
Donations are vital in helping Leeds Mencap continue to work to support children and young people with learning disabilities, and their families, with advice and practical help.
As an independent charity, support from community-based groups makes a huge difference to us here at Leeds Mencap. We have to secure all of our own funding each year, so your donations go a long way in helping us to keep on going with the work we do.
A gift from your community group can help us set up a project or event to give children and young people with learning disabilities the opportunities to make friends & feel included, such as our weekly clubs, groups or activities.
Help us continue to change lives and donate today, here’s how!
Why others choose us
We were looking for an organisation which was doing some excellent work within the local community so that our group could get behind the project. Leeds Mencap fitted that bill. We wanted an organisation that we would work closely with on a local level where we could see the difference that they made on a day to day basis.
Who you will be supporting
Jim and Emily
Emily was born with a rare brain disorder which affects her eyesight and coordination. She also has a learning disability and this meant that growing up she needed extra support at school and home. She found it difficult to access social activities because of a lack of support for individuals with additional needs.Find out more
Grace and Molly
