Parent and Carer Support Groups
At present due to ongoing restrictions we are unable to offer formal parent and carer support groups. We hope that we will be able to restart these soon.
We are still running small developmental play sessions for those children in the Early Years, and parents and carers remain on site during this time. During these sessions you will be able to use the parents room, and will have the opportunity to meet other families and to get a hot drink.
Please get in touch to find out more about what we are currently able to offer and how you can access this.
“I am able to talk openly and honestly to other parents and staff – it is OK to say ‘I’m finding this really hard’ or this is difficult without feeling guilty“
“We have guest speakers, who give information about a range of different subjects, for example respite, transport, puberty and behavioural issues.”
“The group is not a moaning group. We believe we need to be as positive as we can be about our children, but as carers we also need some tender loving care!”
Informal groups – Please note the due to current restrictions parents are not able to remain on site during the evening club sessions
When parent and carers drop their children off at the Vinery Centre for Clubs, they are welcome to stay and wait in the centre. We have a welcoming room with comfy sofas where you can stay, have a hot drink and chat to any other parents who are staying. These are informal groups and not facilitated or coordinated but allow parents to make their own friendships and networks.
We are always happy to talk to parents and carers and support you in setting up your own support group.
