Danni is a communications and marketing business partner at Leeds City Council. Danni brings a range of skills, which include marketing, communications, strategy and planning. Danni has been a leader of her local Brownie pack since 1994.
Alison Van Der Wert
Alison is a retired lawyer, who practised in the field of family law and child protection for over 40 years. She also sat as a Deputy District Judge for many years. Her youngest son has a learning disability and over the years has accessed and benefited from Leeds Mencap’s services. Alison brings legal knowledge as well as extensive experience of dealing with a wide range of professional and voluntary bodies. Additionally, she offers the parenting perspective of having a son with a learning disability.
Sam is Associate Director of the award winning housing developer Urban Splash House Holdings. His background is in leading significant organisation change programmes, project and operational management and the implementation of corporate governance frameworks and operating systems. He also has experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions. Sam also has close family members with learning disabilities.
Tim is a family solicitor at Ison Harrison Solicitors so he brings relevant experience to the board in terms of his knowledge of law, including family law and issues such as child protection. Tim has also volunteered at our Tuesday club for the last 2.5 years and enjoys helping the club members with a range of messy and creative activities.
