JOB TITLE:  Nursery Room Leader – Willow Playroom (2-3 years) (Temporary)

HOURS: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, all year round

SALARY: £9.58 per hour, £19,980pa pro rata (actual £17,482pa)

ANNUAL LEAVE: 28 days per year, plus public bank holidays

Leeds Mencap opened a purpose built nursery, Jimbo’s Community Nursery, in 2016.  The nursery, after school club and holiday club offers childcare to children aged 0- 11 years. Jimbo’s Community Nursery includes a specialist playroom for children with additional needs.  We are looking for a confident Room Leader to support the childcare team to deliver high standards of care and education within the mainstream nursery.

The nursery is busy and vibrant and you’ll need to be positive, flexible, creative and conscientious.  You’ll have a track record of providing high quality care and education to children.  Team working is an essential requirement of the role and we’ll expect you to be able to build positive relationships with colleagues and parents to support the development of the children attending the nursery.  You’ll be skilled at planning and carrying out a range of fun and exciting activities in line with the Early Years Foundation curriculum and be able to adapt these to a diverse range of needs. It is essential that you have an empathetic, supportive and non-judgemental attitude towards others.

You will hold at least a Level 3 Childcare Qualification.

JOB TITLE: Nursery Practitioner (Temporary)
Post 1: Holly Playoom (children aged 6 months – 2 years)
Post 2: Oak Playroom (After School Club, children from 4 – 11 years)
Post 3: Working across all playrooms with children from 0 -11 years

HOURS:
Post 1: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, all year round
Post 2: 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only
Post 3: Bank – Hours per week are depending upon availability and pre-agreed.

SALARY: £8.95ph

ANNUAL LEAVE:
Post 1 and 2: 28 days plus 8 normal bank/public holidays
Post 3: Your pro rata entitlement to holiday will be calculated on an average of hours worked in the previous 12 week period.

JOB TITLE:  Fundraising and Communications Officer

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

SALARY: £21,000 – £24,000 per annum depending on experience

ANNUAL LEAVE: 28 days per year, plus public holidays.

Leeds Mencap are seeking a talented and passionate Fundraising and Communications Officer to help us increase our income, develop our social media presence and engage with our supporters.

You may have worked in another area of fundraising or have transferable skills from a different role, including volunteering opportunities. You must have the enthusiasm, creativity and communication skills to engage with people from a range of different audiences and get involved with a variety of different projects and initiatives.

You’ll be a self-starter who can manage their own workload and be willing to get stuck in during this exciting time for Leeds Mencap. We’re a small team so you’ll be involved in all areas of fundraising and communications – this could be writing trust applications, supporting community groups with their fundraising, doing challenge events promotion and writing content for a variety of different materials, including social media.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious and developing local charity and to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities across Leeds.
