Volunteers are an integral part of Leeds Mencap and we really appreciate and rely on all our volunteers to help us continue our work.

Here are some of the ways you could volunteer for Leeds Mencap:

Volunteer at our projects

Volunteering at our projects is a fantastic way to see the work that Leeds Mencap does first hand, to gain valuable experience and most importantly have fun.

Details of our projects

Monday evenings 7-9pm	Gateway 33 Club	A social club for adults with a learning disability
Tuesday evenings 6-8pm	Junior Youth Club (9-13s)
Thursday evenings 6-8pm	Junior Youth Club (14-18s)
Friday evening 7-9pm	Friday Club (18-25s)	A fun club for young adults
Friday evening 6:30-8pm	Me2 Dance Club (12-25s)

Are you interested in pursuing a career in events, marketing or PR?

We hold many different fundraising events during the year from Halloween parties to abseils and volunteers play a vital role in making sure these events run smoothly. Could you give up a few hours of your time to support one of our events?

You could assist us with:

• Setting up and decorating an event
• Provide a helping hand preparing and selling refreshments
• Helping with children’s activities such as face-painting and arts and crafts
• Selling raffle or tombola tickets
• Marshalling a sporting  event and cheering on participants

We are always looking for innovative and enthusiastic volunteers to support us with a variety of tasks including assisting and planning events, designing leaflets & marketing paraphernalia, and helping with social media. You can fill your CV with great first-hand experience whilst providing a helping hand. 

Could you share a skill?

Are you a great photographer or film maker? Could you help with creative projects? Or lead a workshop at one of our clubs? Are you a performer? We are always keen to hear from people who can share their talents with us.
