Leeds Rugby Stars Support Learning Disability Week

The stars of the Leeds Rugby Union Team spent yesterday afternoon serving tea and cake to our members in the Cafe at the Headingley Stadium.  It was a fantastic opportunity for the 50 people who came along to meet and chat to the players whilst enjoying the free tea and cake kindly provided by Leeds Rugby.

The event's aim was to raise awareness of the issues people with a learning disability can face when entering a sporting stadium and showed Leeds Rugby's commitment to make their ground as accessible as possible for everyone.

A huge thank you to everyone who came, Leeds Rugby and to all the players who did such a fantastic job behind the counter!  Our next event with Leeds Rugby is on Tuesday 6th July and is a Rugby Skills workshop with the Union Team and their coaches on the Headingley pitch!  It's another wonderful opportunity and for anyone with a learning disability, so email
lucy.young@leedsmencap.org.uk to book a place!
